本项目灵感来源于一次逛庙会所见到的四天王造像。我将传统的四天王形象与中国【新四大发明】相结合，描绘了四天王感叹于中国“新四大发明”的场景。绘画风格我参考了家乡的木版年画形象，尤其是在配色的选择了传统颜料，在新的数码媒介上进行绘制，也从另一方面讲传统与现代相融合。名字中的“F4”一方面代表了四位天王的天团组合，另一方面也代表了“新四大发明”所带来的原本只能出现在神话故事（fantasy）里的日新月异的生活。
This project was inspired by the Four Heavenly Kings statue that I saw at a temple fair. I combined the traditional image of the Four Heavenly Kings with China's "Four New Inventions" and depicted the Four Heavenly Kings exclaiming over China's "Four New Inventions". The painting style is based on the woodblock prints of my hometown, especially the color scheme of the traditional pigments and the new digital media, which is a blend of tradition and modernity. The "F4" in the name represents the group of four kings on the one hand, and the "Four New Inventions" on the other hand, representing the ever-changing life that could only appear in mythical stories (fantasy).
